The Fitness Center at Juniper Swim and Fitness Center

The weight room/fitness center features strength, cardio and free weight equipment including:

  • Strength equipment featuring Freemotion functional trainers and Epic selectorized machines.
  • Precor and other state-of-the-art cardio machines to choose from including: treadmills, elliptical trainers, AMT, rowing machine, hand bike, stepmills, upright and recumbent bikes.
  • Free weights, racks and benches including power cage, Smith machine, preacher curl, ab and back benches and stretching area with balls and mats.
  • Airy, bright room with panoramic views of the park.
  • 100% fresh air ventilation system that monitors CO2 levels.
  • Wireless connection and Precor machines are internet capable.

The Fitness Center at Larkspur Community Center

Larkspur Community Center features a 5,000-square-foot fitness center & walk/jog track. Larkspur’s state-of-the-art Fitness Center equipment includes:

  • Precor fitness cardio equipment, including treadmills, ellipticals, ergometers, upright and recumbent bikes.
  • Three SciFit bikes with removable seats and ramps for wheelchair use.
  • The Precor Resolute line of easy-to-use selectorized equipment.
  • Functional fitness equipment, including free weights, balance equipment and cable-cross machines.
  • Poured-in-place Plastek flooring material and feels great under your feet.
  • Stunning views of the Cascades and indoor pool to inspire your workout.

Walk/Jog Track
With 14 laps to a mile, the indoor walk-jog track offers a four-season fitness option and features alcoves for functional workouts and small group training with an Escape Hub – supported by the TRX straps, Bosu, Kettlebells and other equipment.

Risks and Restrictions: The Fitness Center is supervised some but not all hours of operation. Individuals must assume personal responsibility for risks associated with using the fitness center/weight room.

Fitness Centers & Under 18 Use:

  • Youth ages 16 – 17 may use the fitness centers without restriction although we recommend completing a Fitness Center Orientation.
  • Youth ages 11 – 15 may only workout in the fitness centers under direct parent/guardian supervision or complete a Fitness Center Orientation to use the fitness centers independently. After orientation, 11 – 15 year-olds need to check in at front desk for a wristband for each fitness center visit.
  • Children 10 years and younger are not allowed in the fitness centers.
  • Fitness Center Orientations are offered weekly at no cost. Call to learn more, (541) 389-7665.

Fitness Center & Weight Room Orientations: Designed to give you the basic skills to use the equipment safely, orientations are strongly recommend for all patrons before using the fitness centers. Note: Fitness Center Orientations are currently held at Larkspur Community Center only.

Fitness Center Etiquette:

Follow these etiquette guidelines when participating at our fitness centers.

  • BPRD prides itself on a respectful experience. Please refrain from swearing, abusive language, or harassment.
  • Ages 18 and up are welcome in the fitness centers. Ages 11 – 17 are welcome but there may be some requirements including Fitness Center Orientations. Please read below for details. Ages 10 and under are not allowed in the fitness centers.
  • The safest place to secure your belongings is locked in one of the lockers.
  • Wear closed-toe, clean athletic shoes.
  • Clothing should be clean, comfortable to exercise in, and provide appropriate coverage. Pants with rivets are not allowed.
  • Patrons should be clean and free of scents or perfumes.
  • Water or sports drinks must be in containers with lids.
  • Silence cell phones.
  • Talking on the phone is prohibited. Take phone calls to the lobby.
  • Use earbuds or headphones so as not to disturb your neighbors.
  • Private instruction and/or personal training is not allowed except by BPRD employees.
  • Glass is prohibited in all facilities and parks.
  • Avoid slamming or dropping weights; only lift what you can control.
  • After you grab your dumbbells, step away from the rack, and out of the way, to complete your workout. Be mindful of proximity to mirrors and others.
  • Do not rest on machines or benches. Especially when crowded, let others work-in between your sets.
  • Chalk and other grip-enhancing products are not permitted.
  • Collars are required on all barbells.
  • Sanitize weights/machines after use. Wipes provided throughout the studios and fitness centers.
  • Rerack weights when finished, and return other equipment to where you found it.
  • When crowded, limit your time on cardio machines to 30 minutes at a time.
  • Report damaged equipment to staff.
  • Please ask a receptionist for help from a Facility Shift Lead if you are having an issue with another patron.
