The district partnered with Oregon State Parks to bring park amenities to the Pilot Butte State Scenic Viewpoint and enhance the experience of this popular Bend location.
Located near the restroom building and open lawn north of the parking lot, this neighborhood park features a picnic shelter, picnic tables, a playground, plaza space, grass field, paved trails, benches, and shade trees.
The park also has direct access to the Larkspur trail which connects at the north end of the park to the sidewalk at Neff Road near Pilot Butte Middle School or to the south under Highway 20 at the other end of the parking lot.
Pilot Butte Neighborhood Park was acquired in 2009 and developed in 2010, from an agreement with Oregon Parks and Recreation Department. The understanding was to create a park featuring a playground, lawn and trails for the Pilot Butte neighborhood.
Note: Pilot Butte State Park is managed by Oregon Parks and Recreation Department.
