Acts of Kindness Month

Thursday, August 01 - Saturday, August 31
venue: All BPRD facilities

Did you know that kindness can increase your sense of connectivity with others, decrease loneliness, combat low mood and improve relationships?

Research suggests that practicing more deliberate kindness and self-compassion can be one of the most effective ways to alleviate stress, worry and general anxiety. It can also be contagious, encouraging others to join in with their own acts of kindness.

We are asking everyone to make August “Acts of Kindness Month” in BPRD’s facilities and beyond.

Get involved

No act of kindness is too small – welcoming and making room for a new face in a fitness class, complimenting a fellow lap swimmer, thanking an instructor or simply smiling as you pass others in the hallway can be enough to brighten someone’s day, and your own.

BPRD staff will be wearing “Kindness” buttons all month to help remind themselves and others to choose kindness in everything they do.

In addition, you can view Kindness Spotlight poster displays in Juniper Swim & Fitness Center and Larkspur Community Center that honor special people who demonstrate care with others in our facilities.
